This can be really disgusting if you are not
conscious of the fact that people can see the food all
mashed up in your mouth! Close your mouth when
you are eating!
24. 2
If someone asks you something when you have
food in your mouth, motion for them to wait a
moment. At least try to cover your mouth if you
feel the need to talk right then if your mouth
is open some of the food is bond to come out-
how embarrassing!
25. 3
You may not know this, but it is
considered rude and bad manners to
put your elbows on the table. Get
the elbows off!
26. 4
The rule is to eat off your plate and your plate only! If someone
offers you something and you want to partake, then do so using a
clean utensil or napkin. It is rude if you grab someone elses food
without asking. What are you going to do, give it back to them if
they protest? Some people are very protective of their food!
27. 5
You should not hover over your food as if
you are an animal eating out of a trough!
Sit up straight and lean towards your
plate- not over it shoveling in your food!
Its not attractive
28. 6
When you use a knife and fork to cut meat, do not hold
your utensils as though you are stabbing the meat
next time you cut meat, practice.
29. 7
In Japan, if you slurp your soup at the
dinner table it is a compliment to the
chef. However, this rule is not true in
America! Slurp a Slurpee, not your soup!
30. 8
This is similar to hovering pay attention to your
food and the people around you. Take the time
to enjoy your company
31. 9
Put your napkin in your lap, not on the
table or even worse DO NOT WEAR IT AS
A BIB!
32. 10
If you need to reach for something across the
table, ask someone to pass it. Think: Would
you want someones arm rubbing with your
chicken leg?
33. 11
Pay attention to where your food is. If it is cooked, it
shouldnt jump onto your shirt. Dont be in such a
hurry- enjoy your food.
34. 12
No matter where you are, saying please
and thank you, always shows others that
you are polite and considerate.
35. 13
Unless there is a designated food
fight planned, why play with your
food? It is rude to the cook
EAT IT!
36. 14
Burping at the table is never a good idea it
makes the food less appetizing to those
around you eating.
37. 15
You may not think that you are insulting the cook,
but when you complain or continuously glare at the
food, smell it with a funny face, or pick at it, you are
insulting the cook. Be grateful you have someone
who cooked for you!
38. 16
Find something good about the meal
and tell the cook. Compliments are
always welcome!
39. 17
When you are done eating or not using
your knife at the moment, place your used
utensil(s) on the edge of your plate. Do not
put them back on the table.
40. 18
GROSS! If you have something stuck in
your teeth, attempt to get it out
without picking your teeth swish water
or excuse yourself to the bathroom.
41. 19
If you are having nose issues while at the
dinner table, then excuse yourself to the
bathroom. When you blow your nose at the
table, it is not an appetizing sound for those
around you. You may be sick, but dont make
others!
42. 20
I CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH- CLOSE YOUR
MOUTH WHEN YOU ARE EATING! A LADY CAN
QUICKLY TURN INTO A SLOB WHEN FOOD IS
FLYING OUT OF HER MOUTH!
43. Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do
it with thy might; for there is no work,
nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom,
in the grave, whither thou goest.
