1910- 1920¨s   Silent films for instructional use were rented by schools.
1920- 1950¨s   Radio educational stations began to be licensed for instructional purposes. Peak activity radio use from 1925 until 1940.
1950- 1970¨s   Instructional television. Airplanes transmitted televised lessons over a six-state area.
1970 C 1990¨s   Computer era begins. Computers are used for instructional purposes in the USA.
1990- 2000¨s   Computers  and internet. CD-ROM Internet connections in  97 percent of schools.
2000 C 2010   CD-Rom¨s  DVD¨s Intranet and internet  Distance education courses  Access to learning resources within and beyond schools.
