Evaluation 4
1. How did you use media
technologies in the construction
and research, planning and
evaluation stages?
Software
Photoshop - I used this program in
order for it to enable me to create both
my ancillary texts (Digipack and
Poster) This program is extremely
beneficial as it allowed me to truly
explore artistic and graphic areas for my products in
where I did not think were possible. For example, it
2. allowed me to enhance the face and
apply a low poly design to it. Being able
to enhance colour, contrast and create
new options for my overall product is
extremely important, and this is why I
used Photoshop.
Final Cut Pro - The
reason I have chosen to
use Final Cut Pro is because, it is where I
believe I can be as creative as I can get
with the tools at hand. Being familiar with apple software
really does help when editing a music video which has
336 individual shots. Although the editing process is
quite arduous, I do enjoy it as, I have studied this
program and therefore allows me to make my music
video reach its full capabilities. With numerous effects,
transitions, texts, typography and speed arrangements,
3. it really is a key element in the making of my
music video.
Quicktime - This software allowed me to be able to
view the exported video before being uploaded to social
networking/streaming websites.
Online Resources
Google - This search engine was my
primary go to resource as it retrieves
media, statistics and other media in
order for me to apply to my research and planning.
Youtube - This video sharing website
is the most popular and easiest to
4. function to upload media to. It is also
beneficial for my music video research
and to my planning.
Blogger - This website is where I
uploaded all my coursework throughout
the entire year.
Prezi - I used this program in order to present certain
coursework tasks in an easily navigational form. It also
allows sections of whatever is being written to be
separated into adequate amounts and relevant sections.
Survey Monkey - I used this
questionnaire website in order to finish
my audience research tasks.
5. Storage Equipment
Two 16GB SD Cards - I had to SD
cards with me as the definition on the
camera I filmed on was high and with the
fps, it would take up more storage space.
It would also allow me to transfer clips
that Id filmed to transfer them onto a Mac computer.
Two 16GB Memory Sticks - I had
also used two to enable myself to easily
have a second backup of my files and to
also save any extra media necessary.
My Book External Hard Drive 3TB
- I would use this as my primary source
of back up for all my files.
6. Charging
iPhone 5 Charger - This was to
power my mobile phone just incase I
needed to film any different type of
shots or retrieve information whilst
filming.
Nikon D3200 Battery Charger -
This was the most essential charging
device, as it helped charge my
camera throughout the entirety of the
filming process.
7. Editing Hardware
iMac - The reason I used this
computer is because I am more
familiar with Apple products and, I
understand how to use their
applications and software. It is
where I believe I can be my most creative. The
processors are often powerful enough to speed up the
editing process too.
8. Filming Equipment
Nikon D3200 - This camera
is my only form of high enough
quality video recording. The
reason I chose to film on this
DSLR is because it allowed me
to film slow motion clips at a
high enough fps in order for it to then be slowed down in
Final Cut and to turn out as a smooth slow motion shot
instead of it turning out shaky or uneven.
iPhone 5 - I decided to use
my phone to get some more
difficult shots in tighter areas
where my camera would not be
able to fit.
9. Moment Lens - This lens is
adaptable to iPhone cameras. It
allows the cinematographer to get
equally appealing shots as an
average DSLR without the hassle of
a large lens and ease of portability.
Camera 際際滷r - This
allowed me to get shots
predominantly across the
drum kit in a smooth
fashion which in return, gave those shots a much more
professional look and feel.
Tripod - For the majority of
my music video, the shots
were handheld. But for the
effect of the CCTV footage, I
decided to place the camera in
a sturdy and crooked angle
from a lower or higher point of
view.
