The filmmaker's final short film was generally similar to their original idea, though there were some differences in the storyline. Originally, the filmmaker planned to start with their fictional character "Tops" and Jeffrey getting arrested, followed by a court case and sentencing, and then looking for Kyle to kidnap him. However, the final film included an interrogation scene instead and ended with the death of the character Jason instead of Kyle being kidnapped. The filmmaker developed their initial idea by making the interrogation scene the central focus with flashbacks, and changing the ending to Jason being brutally murdered instead of Kyle being kidnapped, to shock the audience. Some aspects like pacing, shot variety, camera movement, and lighting could be improved upon for
