The repair and restoration of deteriorated wood siding, trim, and ornamental plaster on the exteriors of older buildings is one of the cornerstones of what is called a ¡°Painting Restoration¡±. From the symptoms of paint failure, one can determine the underlying causes, and then decide upon the proper cures. A ¡°Painting Restoration¡± is first and foremost an Attitude. It determines the approach one takes to the work to be performed. Most painting contractors are trained to recognize and treat the surface conditions of paint failure.
