 Fashion Tourism can be defined as the phenomenon of people
travelling to and staying in places outside their usual
environment to enjoy , experiment and possibly consume fashion.
 Fashion tourism is a niche market segment evolved out of two
major sectors:
Cultural Tourism and
Shopping Tourism

 In the early fifteenth century, fashion was
considered so important in France.
 Charles the IIV was told to create a separate
organization for fashion, even though not many people
supported such organizations.
 In the eighteenth century, people became more aware
of the importance of fashion and style as news
agents, fashion magazines printed in bright colored
glossy paper, newspapers.

western civilization.
 An understanding of fashion contributes to the

 This trend is gradually becoming one of the more sought
after niche in the tourism markets.

accessories, shopping and the overall experience of the
destinations culture that reflects its creativity,
innovation and knowledge of the country.
