Journalist Rico Washington (Ebony.com, Wax Poetics, Okayplayer) and photographer Shino Yanagawa (GQ-Japan, Harper's Bazaar-Japan, Nylon-Japan) fuse their individual sociocultural experiences and unique perspectives in a collaborative proliferation of insightful art projects. Finding Dante utilizes doppelgangers of New York City mayor Bill de Blasio's biracial teen son Dante as a platform for the largely absent youth voice in the discussion around recent events in Staten Island, Ferguson, and Cleveland. The project features the visages and voices of afro-coiffed Black and Latino boys in Dante's peer group to address the following supposition: if Dante de Blasio were amongst this group of boys and approached by the NYPD, how would he fare?
