Gabriela is a native Portuguese speaker who is self-taught in English and does not have an English diploma. She studied English in school with over 400 hours of instruction between basic and high school education. At her university, materials and some classes were in English. She also took a 70-hour English course and enjoys reading English books, watching TV and movies without subtitles in her free time. Gabriela has worked jobs assisting foreign travelers and currently works in customer service communicating in English with U.S. and Canada customers. 1. To whom it may concern,
As a native in Portuguese language, its required proof of knowledge of
English language. Since most of my English language studies have been
self-taught I dont have any English language diploma.
I attended a public school where the English were mandatory curriculum,
with 216 hours during the last three years of basic education and 232 hours
during the three years of high school.
At UNICAMP University, where I attend Mathematics and Physics
graduation, most of my study materials were in English, books, exercises,
some tests, physics reports and also some classes, once most of my teachers
were foreign.
I also attended an English course at university, as an extracurricular, 70
hours in intermediate level.
In my free time I usually read books, listen to music and watch TV series,
movies all in English without subtitles.
Some of my favorites books are, "Wuthering Heights", "The Picture of
Dorian Gray", "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde". I also read
Lady Agatha Christie, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (most of the Sherlock
Holmes Series), Edgar Alan Poe, Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Nora Roberts
and Sidney Sheldon.
I卒ve worked at S達o Paulos Subway Company between 2005 and 2011,
helping the users of the subway with itinerary, routes and tourist
information, especially the foreign travelers.
Since 2011 I卒ve been working as a customer service representative for U.S.
and Canada customers for IBM and LENOVO.
I sincerely hope that this letter can be a good representation of my
knowledge in English language and allow me to work at this company.
