GEAR is a non-profit organization established in 2010 that provides interest-free loans and skills training to help families in Pakistan start their own businesses and become self-reliant. It has helped launch over 450 small businesses with loans totaling 11 million rupees and has a 96% loan repayment rate. GEAR supports a wide range of business models across various industries and distributes food hampers to families in need during Ramadan each year.

G.E.A.R How it all started? Generating Employment Alternatives for self-Reliance Four year back a report published in news paper that a parents left their newly born child at Edhi. Why? Parents answered that they have no money to feed the child. 3
G.E.A.R Story of our 1st Business A group of friends contributes Rs 10,000 each. Total = Rs 40,000 (Bought 4 Sewing Machines for Women GEAR-Partners) Each woman earns Rs 5,000 / month And, returns Rs 1,000 on monthly basis Generating Employment Alternatives for self-Reliance 4years 450 Business Rs. 11 Million in Rolling 96% Recovery250 Closed Cases 4
G.E.A.R Mechanism Generating Employment Alternatives for self-Reliance The Investors contribute to the G.E.A.R. Fund (We call donation an investment instead because Allah SWT has promised manifolds reward or return for those who spend for the well-being of fellow humans, in this world and the hereafter) G.E.A.R. then gives interest free loan or equipment (sewing machine, cart etc) to the borrowers after due diligence of their capacity. The borrowers return the loan to G.E.A.R. in easy installments.(Only Principal Amount) The G.E.A.R. fund is therefore, replenished to fund new borrowers thus continuously increasing the number of those who benefit from the same volume of funds in the pool. 5
G.E.A.R Zakat Fund Generating Employment Alternatives for self-Reliance G.E.A.R. Also collects zakat fund to channelize to the deserving (as per Shariah Compliance) Within the same philosophy of creating Self-Employment to alleviate poverty, zakat fund will be utilized to find social business for deserving families. Funding of such business out of zakat fund will be done by authorizing the families as per Shariah. And the fund is not taken back. 100 Business Launched Under Zakat Donations. 6

Volunteerism Universities Student Bring new cases & connect with partner from Evolution phase to Business Execution phase. Collect monthly installments & Prepare monthly progress report. These reports are published on our website and sent to donors who Sponsored that Individual Partner. 7
