1) The document discusses the issue of child labor, noting that children are forced to work long hours for very low wages, sometimes only earning 1 penny for every 20 hours of work.
2) It notes that retailers receive 90% of the profits from goods produced through child labor, while farmers receive only 1-3% despite doing the actual work.
3) The author expresses that as global citizens, we should be more aware of where the products we buy come from and consider paying higher prices to support fair wages for children.
2. Children are forced to work all over the world, stupid hours and get paid a minimal wage of 4p every 80hours This is where it all starts … but when will it end ? Child Labour
3. Did you know ? They get paid up to 4p every 80hours which is 1penny every 20hours. They are made to work 20hours a day
4. Where does your money go ?? Retailers :90/% Shippers:7% Farmers:1-3%
5. Being A Global Citizen I’ll walk down the street and I’ll look in a shop and I’ll see a top for a tenner. Nearly always I have money in my pocket and if I picked up that top I wouldn’t think twice about where it came from. But then ill see the fair trade sign and picture all those children working their socks off all day. It just makes me want to pay more so they get a better division of money but I know that wouldn’t work. Its our world, our choice. A tenner doesn’t seem a lot to me but a tenner out there could buy a child's life
6. But what about child labour I think very strongly about child labour!!
7. My Opinion Being a global citizen my self I think that what they do is amazing and yes I am grateful for them but that does not mean that I don’t think it’s bad. What they are made to do is disgusting. Children the ages of 4 are made to work. And children these days don’t appreciate what is done for them and if they were made to work like that they would treasure every moment of their life as if it was their last.
