This document discusses global warming and its impacts. It defines global warming as an increase in average temperatures caused by too much carbon dioxide trapping heat in the atmosphere. This can lead to rising sea levels from melting ice caps, endangering coastal cities and polar animals' habitats. The document recommends individual actions like biking and using less electricity to help address the problem. It also notes global warming harms marine life by acidifying oceans as carbon dioxide dissolves into carbonic acid.
2. What is Global Warming ?
ï‚— Global Warming is when the earth gets warmer. Global
Warming happens because we let out too much carbon
dioxide and that causes an atmospheric greenhouse . The
atmospheric greenhouse lets heat come in , but doesn’t let
a lot come out . That makes the earth warmer.

4. Why is it so bad?
 Global Warming doesn’t mean more time by the beach or
having enough heat to be swimming in the sea , it means
sea levels will rise because of melting ice at the poles.
That means there will be floods and the Netherlands,
Manhattan and other low parts of the world will be
covered in water.

5. What can we do to help?
ï‚— To help, you can bike or walk short distances or buy a
hybrid car if possible . Don’t waste electricity because
overuse of electricity means more fossil fuels have to be
burned and that causes carbon dioxide to rise into the air.

6. What affect does Carbon Dioxide
have on the atmosphere?
ï‚— Carbon Dioxide is a very strong gas . When released into
the air, it makes holes in the ozone layer. The ozone layer
prevents dangerous rays from the sun coming in such as
UV rays. UV rays can cause cancer so during summer,
you should put strong sun tan lotion on or you may end up
having skin or eye cancer.

7. Not only us!
ï‚— When scientists think of global warming. They think about
humans mostly. When we do also has an affect on other
animals. Animals that are affected most:
ï‚— POLAR BEAR
ï‚— PENGUIN
ï‚— OTHER POLAR ANIMALS

10. Impacts of Global Warming..
ï‚— There are three impacts of global warming:
1.Increase in average temperature
2.Migration of animals
3. Acidification of ocean

11. INCREASE IN AVERAGE
TEMPERATURE
ï‚— Due to negative human activities, the overall temperature
of the earth’s atmosphere has rised to a considerable
amount which leads undesirable outcome such as:
ï‚— Accelerating sea level
ï‚— Harm caused to humans

12. Accelerating sea level
ï‚— As the result of the earth getting warmer, ice is melting
globally especially at the earth’s poles.[this includes
mountain glaciers, ice sheets covering west Antarctica,
Greenland and Arctic sea ice.]
ï‚— When huge amount of ice melts, it turns into a huge
amount of water and thus rising a sea level.

14. Consequences
ï‚— Low lying islands are being submerged by overwhelming
amount of sea water.
ï‚— Many arctic wildlife animals such as polar bears are
losing their icy habitat in which they are unable survive
without it.

15. Harm caused to human
ï‚— The rising temperature of earth can cause serious
repercussion to human beings . This is because the human
body is not capable of coping with extreme temperatures
for long period of time . Doing so might lead to death.
ï‚— For example , in 2014 study , it is said that deaths from
heat has increased about 2000% since the last decade.

16. OCEAN ACIDIFICATION
ï‚— Ocean acidification is caused by the excessive absorption
of carbon dioxide(g) by the ocean which is due to the
rising level of co2 caused by global warming.
ï‚— When co2 dissolve in water , it will turn into carbonic
acid. This will cause harm to some of the marine
organisms due to the acid dissolving their shells.

18. Consequences
ï‚— If the ocean becomes more acidic, it is expected that the
number of some marine organisms including coral reefs
will decrease in areas where they are most common.
ï‚— The acidity of ocean has since been increased about 25%.
