This document discusses the integration of GPS and GSM technologies for vehicle tracking. It begins with introductions to GPS and GSM systems, explaining how GPS provides location data via satellites and GSM enables wireless communication. The working principle is described, involving GPS receivers detecting satellite signals to determine position, which is then sent via GSM. A block diagram of the GPS tracker circuit is presented. Advantages include stolen vehicle recovery and remote location monitoring. Future applications could include animal tracking and delivery services. The document concludes that combining GPS, GSM, and a web app allows for more secure vehicle monitoring.

3. INTRODUCTION
 Global Positioning Satellites (GPS)
enable the tracking of all kinds of mobile
assets accurately and provide their real
time positions to the owners 24 x 7.
 GPS provides the latitude/longitude
information of the mobile asset a given
time, this information can be transmitted
to any place using the GSM/GPRS radio
link.
4. GSM (Global System for Mobile
communications).
GSM is a digital cellular communications
system.
It is used for transmitting mobile voice and
data services.
International roaming capability.
Better security against fraud
5. GPS (Global Positioning System)
GPS always transmits the data
GPS Receiver gets the location
information from satellites.
GPS TRACKING can be used to
track vehicles, equipment, mobile
phones, people
6. WORKING PRINCIPLE
The GPS technology uses at least three or four
of the 24 satellites for computing the position
and location of objects.
GPS receivers detect the satellites’ transmitted
signals and accurately determine the location.
GSM technology determines an object's position
by using signal strength and triangulation from
base stations.
GPS track the location of a device or phone by
using digital maps, such as Google maps.
7. GSM, on the other hand, triangulates the
location of a cell phone in a network by using
the phone’s international mobile equipment
identity, or IMEI, number.

10. ADVANTAGES
Stolen vehicle recovery .
Monitors all hazards and threats
Alert message to mobile phone for remote information
Mobile number can be changed at any time.
Location of vehicle or object can be determined
anytime.
11. SCOPE IN FUTURE
 If anybody steals our car we can easily find our car around
the globe and the vehicle can be turned off by only with a
simple SMS.
 To track animals in jungles.
 Delivery services.

 The seminar is all about interfacing
GPS with GSM. The system is about
making vehicle more Secure by the
use of GPS, GSM technology and a
web application.
