This document is a student's final project proposal for constructing a recreation area on campus. The student selected a 30m x 30m area near Uni Plaza Square for the project. Their concept is to turn the area into a Disneyland-themed mini park, including attractions like a carousel, small ferris wheel, and Mad Tea Party ride. Diagrams provide the proposed layout and sizes for each attraction. Research was required to plan the improvements properly while considering aspects like materials, heights, uses, and safety. The goal is to create a fun space for students to relax and reduce stress.

INTRODUCTION In a group work of 2 students, we need to find a specific land within campus area to initiate a small construction project. The size of the land shall not be more than 30m x 30m. we would propose one project that serves one of the following purposes. 1. Recreation area 2. Study Enhancement Area 3. Rest area 4. Food and beverage (dining area) 5. Commercial area (exclude food and beverage) The type of area I get is Recreation area.
Recreation Area DEFINITION: A recreation area is a type of protected area designated in some jurisdictions. In the United States, National Recreation Areas are administered by several different agencies. They typically do not meet the strict guidelines to become national parks. In U.S. state park systems, recreation areas may also fail to meet some criteria to be designated state parks, such as having a large number of non-contiguous properties. Size is not necessarily a defining criteria. However, recreation area is not necessary a park or a garden. It could be shopping mall, beach, as long as there is the place to let people to carry out recreation activities. Example of recreation area: 1.Golden Gate National Recreation Area (USA) 2.Gunung Keriang Recreational Park, Kedah (MALAYSIA) 3.KLCC PARK (MALAYSIA)
Site Analysis The place that I chose is the Uni Plaza Square. There are few reasons that I chose this place. 1. It is a open area, which allow all the Taylors student to access the place, and normally when Taylors held some event or activities, this is the place they will use for. 2. It is located at the center of the University. Almost every Taylorians pass by here when they are going lecture theater or commercial block. 3. It is beautiful! The pattern of the square pavement give the modern feeling to this place, and I found no reason to not maximize the uses of this place. To sum up all the factors, the major purpose I choosing this place is because this is an open space area, its allow people to connect, communicate, and yet to enhance the connectivity among one another, not only between Taylorian to Taylorian, and also who were came to visit this university.
Concept The concept that I will use to improve the Uni plaza square is Disneyland theme park concept. It might sound crazy but if you can imagine that your childhood dream appeared in front of you when you enter your college or university. This idea is come from most of the personality that all Taylorian consist of, which is crazy-passionate, it is a personality that made up of crazy and passionate. So, in my opinion Disneyland theme park concept is the best concept to describe this personality. It is kind of fantasy, perfect, and sort of childish (can be observe form the Taylorian.)
Idea Suggestion 1. Carousel -The reason I will add carousel to the current site is because when you feel stressed, you can take a ride and release your tension, and having fun with your peers or friends. Other than that, carousel will be another attraction in Taylors university. - size of the carousel.
2. Small Ferris Wheel Ferris wheel. By adding this to the plaza square, We can enjoy the beauty of our campus with another way. Imagine at night the view of lakeside campus from Ferris wheel. How fantasy is it. - Size of the ferris wheel - diameter 12m - radius 6m - 6 seats
3. Mad Tea Party The reason of adding this is also to release the stress of the student. To let them have a feeling of throwing up. - Overall size, 10m of diameter (not each cup)
Zoning
Reflection Thought out this project, I found that its not an easy way to plan, construct a new building or improvement, and before u start to construct something, research is a must. From every aspect, material use, height of building, uses of building, target client, and so on.
