As we throw around the word IoT there are still many who wonder what the technology is and how it can help them. Here's an attempt at explaining IoT as basic as we can.

Human need to connect with each other existed as long as we existed
We even developed vocal skills and languages to talk to each other, literally evolving our physical beings to satisfy this need. Communication is that deep of a need indeed.
Then we wanted to communicate even when distant. And communication technologies were born
For hundreds of years, we kept wanting to reach each other from afar. First we wrote, then we spoke to each other, from farther and farther. Today, we can even send and receive images and video, in real time too Now What? Whats Next?
Machines helped us with work and personal lives. Let us tell you a little bit about machines and technology
Technology helped us with organization and communication.
And now, inanimate tools are becoming, more and more, extensions of our human experience and existence.
Electronics and machines have become the very the fabric of our modern life.
Even our social construct is no longer the same
Electronics, machines and US, we are no longer so separate
We are no longer just our body when we integrate into all this technology so intimately. Our communication is no longer via simple physical methods. Therefore, while its a little hard to grasp
Our communication, our useful and deep need of connection, exchange of information, is no longer just between physical body human beings.
The new ME (you) = Machines + Electronics + + Physical Body That is what they mean when they say, Internet of Things (IoT) Or Internet of Everything (IoE)
Welcome to a new world where everything is connected and communicating dynamically
