Irene Merayo Urbano's opinion on the video about apple's factory in china
1. I have been very impressed about the video. I was specially surprised when I saw the
¡°suicide nets¡±. I don¡¯t want to imagine what can have happened so that it¡¯s needed to have
them. Also, think this is a topic that is not spoken about enough. It¡¯s like the ¡°dark side¡±of
many big companies. I found out about this not a very long time ago, and I¡¯m sure many of
the clothes we buy nowadays are produced in a very similar way as these Apple products:
by very young people that have no other choice than working in a very precarious situation,
for too many hours without a break and not gaining enough money to buy basic necessities
for them or their families. I hope this changes sometimes, but as we never see these things
on TV or newspapers, I¡¯m afraid it won¡¯t for now, because it¡¯s a problem that I think everyone
tries to ¡°hide¡±, or not give it the importance it has.
