This document provides instructions and questions for an activity to help participants reflect on significant life experiences and events by plotting them on a timeline. Participants are asked to identify "highs" like happy moments and "lows" like difficult times. They are then prompted to analyze patterns in what triggered high and low points, insights about themselves, and what they realized about their personal history and journey. The goal is for participants to acknowledge the constant presence of someone or something in their lives throughout different experiences.
2. For the second activity, let’s go
chronological. Get a blank sheet of paper
and draw a long horizontal line in the
middle. This will be your LIFELINE.
You may copy the image on the next slide for reference.
4. ‘Highs’ may represent significant events
where you experienced high moments of
happiness, curiosity, enthusiasm, pride,
etc.
‘Lows’ may represent significant moments
where you experienced the so-called
negative emotions like anger, grief,
shame, fear, apathy, etc.
5. What did you feel while you were
doing the activity? What memories or
feelings surfaced?
Let’s study your life line.
What were the high points of your
life? Low points?
6. What was common in your high
points? In your low points?
What triggers these high and low
moments in your life?
7. What insights can you draw about
yourself based on the data from the
life line?
What did you realize about yourself
and your history?
8. Did you like the song?
What does the song say
to you?
10. ‘Cause what if Your blessings
come through raindrops?
What if Your
healing comes through tears?
What if
a thousand sleepless nights are what it
takes to know You're near?
What if
trials of this life are Your mercies in
disguise?
11. In our own journey, we have
experienced so many things –
surprises, proud moments,
happy times, bad days,
tragedies and failures.
12. And in all of these
experiences, it seems that
there was someone who
remained constant in our
lives.
13. The challenge for us is to
acknowledge that constant in
our lives – through high
points and low points.
14. It is in this recognition that we
can fully embrace our personal
history, personal journey – that
no matter what, there will be
someone who will be with us.
