Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata was born in 1904 in Paris and joined the Tata company as an unpaid apprentice in 1925, later becoming chairman in 1938. As chairman, he launched several initiatives including Titan Industries, Voltas Limited, and the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, and also established the Tata Memorial Cancer Research Hospital and National Centre for Performing Arts. He was a motivational and visionary leader known for his approachability, realism, diplomacy, and support for innovation, and received numerous honors including the Padma Bhushan award and Bharat Ratna.
