The "Just Write It - Boot Camp" aims to encourage writing and fitness in students. It will take place on March 26th in the school auditorium. Students will rotate between 5 writing stations for 7 minutes each, doing a 1 minute exercise between stations. A mandatory station is a story sandwich activity. Upon completing the stations, students will receive a candy reward before going to after school clubs. City Year volunteers will lead the stations and activities. The goal is to make writing rigorous but fun while also incorporating brief physical activity.

Just Write It- Boot Camp Thursday, March 26th Mission: The purpose ofthe Just Write It- BootCamp is to encourage the students ofE.W. Rhodes who participate in the After School program to do two main things: 1. Enjoy Writing! Writing can be fun although it is rigorous. They get to express who they are through paper in the way that they write. 2. Enjoy Fitness! Just like working outmakes you tired; writing can do the same thing. However, just as working outhas long-term benefits, learning to write has the same healthy factors. It makes you feel better in the end even through a hard workout. Time: Action People Addl Comments 3:09-3:25 Snack/Sign-in Process/Explanation of camp Full CM Support- The more we have the more efficient the time will be used. 3:25-3:30 we will be transitioning to the Auditorium. SG, AB & AS-D Stay back for transitioning. 3:30 Camp Starts! 2 CMs will be placed at 2 adjoining tables to run a station. The list of stations & CM pairings is outlined below. 3:30-3:38 Station #1 Students & CMs 3:38-3:40 Workout #1 Students & CMs 1 Minute of Jumping Jacks 3:40-3:48 Station #2 Students & CMs 3:48-3:50 Workout #2 Students & CMs 1 minute of pushups or sit-ups or Squats 3:50-3:58 Station #3 Students & CMs 4:00 Club Dismissal All club points Be Prepared to walk your kids over as a group to club - The Students will be handed a half sheet with a list of stations in which they will choose two to attend and 1 that is mandatory. Upon completion of the three stations they will receive Sandwiches or Burgers, which are the candy burgers, which will be purchased from the Poppy Store or by Lauren Lindsey at another location. - The students will get the candy on the way out of the door to go to clubs. If they decide to stay they will get the candy and just walk back towards the auditorium. Setting, Auditorium (10 tables). The points are in bold. Please coordinate with them for your games. 1. Parts of Speech Candace & Joy, Sanovia At the end they make it to the Finish Line. & Sign the Large Just Write It. Paper.
I do understand that this schedule is very strict but I believe that we can do it. If we all work together to control the space this could be a huge success! Directions:You will have the opportunity to choose two writingstations to build upon your composition skills. You will stay at these stations for about 7 minuteseach and have a 1-minutetransition period wherewe will all do an exercise in-between each station.
