2. …his own angels
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but
against the rulers, against the authorities, against the
powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces
of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:12)
3. …sinners
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to
carry out your father’s desires. (John 8:44)
4. …saints
….Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must …
suffer many things … and … killed and on the third day
be raised to life. Peter took him aside and began to
rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never
happen to you!” Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get
behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you
do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely
human concerns.” (Matthew 16:21–23)
6. …he can tempt you
…remember, when you are being tempted, do not
say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted
to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else.
Temptation comes from our own desires, which
entice us and drag us away. (James 1: 13-14)
11. If God is for us, who can ever be against us?.... Since he did not spare even his
own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?....
Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer
loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or
destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?...... And I am convinced that
nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither
angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about
tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s
love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in
all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is
revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8: 31-39)
