Duc-Phuong NGUYEN of UPMC Paris, France presented on June 3, 2012 about using mathematical modelling and conditional random fields (CRFs) to weight activities given user-selected characteristics and generate input data for an optimization problem. The presentation covered the problem, why it matters, and how CRFs could provide a solution, and included examples using LaTeX code.

NGUYEN Problem:
Literally speaking: Weighting activities given an input ( a set of
5 characteristics chosen by users)
Why ?
Measuring how well an input matches to each element in
the set of activities ( 1000 elements)
Generating input data for optimization problem
How ?
