This document discusses building an app for customers aged 14-21 who are addicted to talking with friends and want simple, personal voice sharing. The app would allow users to easily share their voice with friends in a simple, personal way of communication. The document poses an open question about how to achieve this goal of simple voice sharing and personal communication.
#2: (gussan)
Hello everyone. Im Ghassan Fadlallah, this is Jaleel Salhi, and this is Shane Dzierwa (zerr wa). Together were creating a mobile application called ListenUp that allows people to very easily record and share voice messages with their friends and family.
We believe the basic need for our application arises from the fact that voice messaging is merely an afterthought in most applications that utilizes it, really leaving room for an app to really exploit the sole avenue of voice sharing.
A good example of something that gets close to what were trying to do is voicemail, but with voicemail you have to wait until after a phone call ends to leave a voice message, and even then its not clear if the person on the other side heard your message.
#3: (shane) 14-21, Addicted to talking to their friends: We always want to be in contact with our friends, whether its short video clips or images. Why arent we doing this through voice? The closest thing we have to this is the phone call, nothing dedicated to short digestible bites of audio.
(jaleel) Simple voice sharing: Audio sharing is muddled in other features, like we said, an afterthought in other applications. Wed like to be able to press a button and just send our voice. Every time weve looked for competition, its been embedded in a glob of features (avoid the pile like we said in class the other day). Yes, other apps DO it, but few, if any do it SIMPLY.
(gussan) Personal communications: Customers want an intermediary between texting and phone calls; if we get a text, it can come from anybody. Texts have such a flat tone to them, but if you were just able to add your own intonation, it takes it to a whole other level.
#4: (jaleel) Recording capability is immediately visible and simple to use (low learning curve). What you want to send and who you want to send it to is right in front of you, and easy to modify at any point in the process.
THIS DESIGN IS SHITTY WERE NOT DONE IM SORRY
#5: (shane) somehow make this slide at least slightly about personal communication, link it to the story
