The document discusses the Magic Body Control suspension system, which is an advanced active suspension system. It consists of a stereo camera, sensors, electronic control unit, hydraulic servo mechanisms, and electronically controlled shock absorbers. The stereo camera scans the road surface ahead and provides this information to the ECU. The ECU then controls the hydraulic mechanisms and shock absorbers to adjust the suspension based on the road conditions, improving comfort and handling. The system has advantages like reduced pitching and rolling of the vehicle. It allows the driver to select different suspension modes like comfort and sport.

3. INTRODUCTION
Suspensions systems are now one of the inevitable sections in the
automotive industries which are accountable for the ride, comfort and
safety . Research and development in this field seems to be unremitting.
MAGIC BODY CONTROL SUSPENSION SYSTEM Is one of the latest
inventions in the field of suspensions systems.
4. What is a Suspension System?
Suspension is a system of Springs, Shock Absorbers and linkages that
connects a vehicle to its wheels and allows Relative motion between the
two.
Objectives of Suspension System
Protection of passenger & goods from road shock & vibrations
Provides good control over the vehicle while braking and cornering
It reduces wheel wobbling and provides riding comfort
Provides stability & gives cushioning effect

ACTIVE SUSPENSION
SYSTEM
SEMI-ACTIVE
SUSPENSION SYSTEM
PASSIVE SUSPENSION
SYSTEM
It is a type of automotive
suspension system that
controls the vertical
movement of the wheels
relative to the chassis
with an on board
system.
It is a type of automotive
suspension system that
controls the damping
force of the shock
absorber from
continuously varying
road surfaces.
Here the movement is
determined entirely by
the road surface
7. MAGIC BODY CONTROL
SUSPENSION SYSTEM
Magic body suspension system is the next generation of active body
suspension system improving both comfort & driving dynamics
It includes a globally innovative road scan function i.e. A stereo camera
scans the road ahead and registers the road surface & its conditions
It recognizes the uneven road surface before passing through it & enabling
the suspension to adjust itself .
8. COMPONENTS INVOLVED
ECU ( Electronic Control Unit )
Stereo Camera
Sensors
Reservoir
Hydraulic servo mechanism
Shock absorbers
9. ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU)
ECU is a device responsible for overseeing, regulating, & altering the
operations of a cars system
It receives the information from various elements like sensors, and
cameras . The results is the signals that actuates the hydraulic servo
mechanism and shock absorbers
It calculates the current driving status
Independent controlling of shock absorbers
Selecting damping characteristics
10. STEREO CAMERA
It is a camera with two or more lenses with a separate image sensor for
each lense allowing to simulate human binocular vision i.e. gives ability to
capture 3-dimensional images, a process known as stereo photography
It acts as the EYES of the suspension system
It is placed on the wind shield
It continuously monitors the road surface 15 meters in front and report it
to ECU
The stereo camera is a infrared camera & can be used in low light
This camera is also used in intelligent drive system & parking assistance
11. SENSORS
The sensor continually monitors the body movement and supplies the
input to ECU every 10 millisecond
It uses acceleration sensors to measure the movement of body by
Longitudinal, Lateral and Vertical Acceleration sensors
Pressure sensors are used to measure the pressure of front and rear axle
strut assembly also it senses the pressure developed in the servo
mechanism and are reported to ECU
It also uses vehicle height sensor to measure the ride height and
compensate for the road variations. They are located on wheels to
measure the vehicle height at every condition
12. RESERVOIRS AND HYDRAULIC SERVO
MECHANISMS
Reservoir is used to store the oil so that it can be supplied to hydraulic
servo mechanism as per the command of the ECU
This reservoir is situated at the rear side of the vehicle
Hydraulic servo mechanism uses automatic feedback & hydraulics to
correct the performance of a machine. ECU directs the servo mechanism
on how to correct the cars positioning
13. SHOCK ABSORBERS
Shock absorbers are used to absorb shock impulses formed during
different road shocks
Magic body control suspension system uses a electronically controlled
shock absorber that feature variable shock damping
The degree of damping is controlled based on the inputs of ECU, sensors &
stereo camera
14. WORKING
The stereo camera scans the roads surface and provides corresponding
signal to ECU
This system scans the road surface up to 15 meters ahead of the vehicle
with an accuracy of up to 3mm
It is active up to 130km/hr, and it adjusts the shock damping at each wheel
to overcome the imperfections of the road
ECU determines the amount of pressure to be built in the servo
mechanism according to various signals from sensors
15. The sensors and the servo hydraulic mechanism generates forces to
overcome the imperfection of road surface
By these combinations the suspensions take action before the wheels
reach them
17. DRIVING MODES
COMFORT MODE
The suspension level is automatically adjusted depending on the speed.
Vehicle is lowered by ten millimetres at speeds over 120 km/h.
SPORT MODE
Vehicle is lowered by10 millimetres at speeds below 120km/h
Besides these driving modes driver is able to select a
suspension setting raised by 30 millimetres.
18. CONCLUSION
Innovation of MAGIC BODY CONTROL SYSPENSION SYSTEM
created a revolutionary change in suspension system compared to
conventional suspension system hence increasing the performance, safety,
and comfort of an automobile.
Future Scope
These type of suspension systems can be installed in emergency vehicles
by reducing the manufacturing cost of the suspension system.
