Product-by-process claims define a product by the process used to manufacture it, allowing the same product to be patented even if made by a different process. The document provides examples of approved product-by-process claims for paracetamol tablets made via two different processes and rejected claims for metal carboxylates defined only by the reactants used to produce them.

Embryo development of fresh versus vitrified mii oocytes after icsiianhuang7
油
This study compared embryo development from fresh versus vitrified metaphase II oocytes after ICSI. Sibling oocytes from patients undergoing IVF were either used fresh or vitrified and later warmed. Results showed fertilization and embryo development rates up to day 2 were not affected by vitrification. Oocyte survival after warming was over 95%. Pregnancy rates were also similar between fresh and vitrified oocytes. This study provides evidence that vitrification does not impair early embryo development and can support ongoing pregnancies comparable to fresh oocytes.

This was the first training session I did for using Mendeley as a Reference Management software after being inducted into the Mendeley Advisors' Group. The target group for this presentation was Master's students with no prior experience of doing research or using reference management software. These students had applied for competitive grants to the Research Capacity Building Program being run by the India Research Initiative on Peri-Urban Human-Animal-Environment Health (which employs me at the time of uploading this presentation). In addition to providing them with seed funding to support their Master's theses, the Capacity Building Program also provided multiple opportunities for learning, networking and skill building, including a workshop on the Basics of EcoHealth Research Methods, in course of which this presentation was made.

For over 35 years, the 14-Day Rule, prohibiting in vitro experimentation on embryos beyond 14 days, stood as an ethical line in the sand for embryo research around the world. Throughout the arc of the rules existence it had not been questioned, as scientists had been unable to grow embryos in vitro either up to, or beyond, 14 days; a practical limitation that served as a backstop to the ethical rule. However, in May 2016, labs in the U.S. and the U.K. were the first to report being able to sustain human embryos in vitro for up to 13 days. This development and other advances in in vitro research involving organized, embryo-like cellular structures have raised a number of questions about the rule, its genesis, application, and future scope. This conference convened experts in bioethics, stem cell research, embryology, and law to discuss the ethical underpinnings and future scope of the rule. Questions discussed included:
- What are the historical, ethical and scientific rationales for establishing the 14-Day Rule?
- Should the 14-Day Rule be revisited in light of recent advances?
- Should the 14-Day Rule even apply to research involving the in vitro culture of embryo-like cellular structures?

Validity, reliabiltiy and alignment to determine the effectiveness of assessmentMirea Mizushima

The document discusses the importance of validity, reliability, and alignment in determining the effectiveness of assessments. It defines validity as measuring what is intended, reliability as consistency, and alignment as connecting objectives, activities, and assessments. The document provides details on factors affecting and types of validity, reliability, and strategies for developing effective assessments aligned to standards through higher-order skills, critical abilities, international benchmarks, and instructionally sensitive tasks.
This document profiles four influential historical figures: Adolf Hitler, who led Nazi Germany and was central to the Holocaust and World War II in Europe; Albert Einstein, who developed the general theory of relativity and influenced philosophy of science; Martin Cooper, a pioneer in wireless communications who invented the handheld mobile phone; and Tim Berners-Lee, best known as the inventor of the World Wide Web. It also provides brief definitions of key terms like Holocaust and relativity and questions about the individuals.
This thesis examines coupling an electrolyzer with a Rankine cycle for sustainable hydrogen production using thermal solar energy. The proposed system integrates a solar harvesting system with a conventional Rankine cycle to produce electric and thermal power for domestic applications and hydrogen via high temperature electrolysis using a solid oxide steam electrolyzer. A thermodynamic analysis is conducted on the subsystems - solar collectors, steam cycle, and electrolysis - to study the performance and efficiency. Parametric analysis is also carried out to analyze the effect of varying solar flux and collector area on hydrogen production rate. Finally, a comparative analysis of a parabolic trough versus heliostat field examines which works most effectively with the plant and highest hydrogen production.

Solar thermal power generation systems use mirrors to collect sunlight and produce steam by solar heat to drive turbines for generating power. This system generates power by rotating turbines like thermal and nuclear power plants, and therefore, is suitable for large-scale power generation.
Megan provided feedback on various aspects of the magazine document. For the front cover, she suggested changing the close-up picture to a mid-shot and adjusting the font size in the featuring section. She felt the contents page looked professional with its Q-style formatting and appropriate level of pictures but could include an "Artists Included" section. Megan's favorite part was the first double-page spread for its professional look in all aspects. She enjoyed the article content but noted spelling mistakes.

The document summarizes the progression of skills from a preliminary task to a final music magazine product. The author learned to use InDesign rather than Photoshop to create a more professional magazine layout. Skills with tools like the place and wrap tools in InDesign allowed for better article design. Editing photos in Photoshop and assembling the magazine in InDesign allowed for easier text and image placement. Further revisions included adding a contents page, changing the house style color, and using Photoshop to add color to a model photo against a black and white background for the double page article spread.

The magazine aims to appeal to fans of indie music, particularly those in social class ABC1 aged 16-30, with a main focus on men. This is shown through the cover artist, who is portrayed using body language on the cover and in photos as serious and mysterious to connect with audiences. In photos, he is depicted through costuming and settings associated with indie artists, such as outside in urban areas. The article balances portraying him seriously with his rebel persona through most photos, but then shows his real, light-hearted side by depicting him laughing across a double page spread.
The document requests images for a front cover and double page spread that portray an artist as having a hard shell and being complex. For the cover, it wants a close-up of the artist's face in black and white to focus on his lack of emotion. For the spread, it wants the artist in an urban background looking into the distance to seem more accessible yet complex to the target audience.
This document outlines the proposed contents for a music magazine, including a catchy cover story, popular music and media reviews in the "Regulars" section, an eye-catching feature on music festivals or gigs for 2013, details on subscribing to the magazine, a spotlight on the main artist included, and a potential "Band Index" listing over 15 music acts.
Joe Bean is a rising pop star who has had success adapting the Clash song "London Calling" and vows to top the charts with his debut album and singles throughout the year. While he grew up in a troubled home and was involved in a gang in his youth, he now prioritizes his career and supporting his sister. He has been candid about past drug problems but says he has been sober since a near-death overdose experience two years ago.

New media is transforming the world through emerging technologies. It includes social networks that allow free sharing of news or paid promotion, apps that make magazines accessible on mobile devices through subscriptions or single issue purchases, and websites that serve as hubs for extra magazine content like videos and photos.
My magazine featured indoor and outdoor pictures taken at school. Indoor shots used professional studio equipment and backdrops to look professional. Outdoor shots portrayed the artist in different locations like police cells or council estates by shooting at angles that made the field look like somewhere else. Pictures were also taken in black and white during snowy weather to make the areas look more dangerous and stand out more.
The document discusses different promotional methods for magazines, including traditional and modern approaches. Traditional methods mentioned include placing the magazine free in newspapers, advertising on radio stations, placing ads on TV music channels, and putting up posters and billboards. Modern methods suggested are creating a website, social media pages on Facebook and Twitter with paid promotion, and developing an app where users can purchase each issue. The overall goal of promotion is to increase the number of potential customers and readership of the magazine.
The document discusses the equipment used for a photo shoot, including a Canon 550D camera that was provided by the school to allow students to take high quality pictures for a magazine project. It also mentions studio equipment such as lighting and backdrops that were used to ensure perfect lighting in the photos and help the students succeed.
