Natalie Du Toit is a South African swimmer who had her leg amputated at age 17 due to a motorcycle accident. Despite this, she became a professional swimmer, competing in the Olympics and Commonwealth Games, where she broke records and won medals against able-bodied swimmers. She won 13 gold medals in Paralympics between 2004 and 2012 before retiring in 2012 at age 36 to work on improving administration of sports.
