This document describes a project to implement the INDEX GIS-based planning software in San Antonio to measure sustainability indicators across the city. The objectives are to reduce energy/water use, vehicle travel, emissions, and carbon footprint. INDEX can calculate 89 indicators in categories like land use, housing, travel, and environment. It was implemented in target neighborhoods and validated by comparing indicators between neighborhoods. Results were organized by the city's 10 major districts and neighborhood associations to support planning efforts.

1) The EcoBlock project proposes a sustainable housing development model for China that is self-sufficient in terms of energy, water, and waste management. 2) It aims to address the significant environmental impacts of China's current "Superblock" developments, which place major demands on infrastructure, by creating neighborhoods that generate their own renewable energy and recycle water and waste on-site. 3) The EcoBlock concept has the potential to substantially reduce China's environmental impacts if implemented on a large scale, saving resources like drinking water and preventing pollution of rivers and landfill overuse.

I came to know regarding this competition from rediff.com The designed area is thoughtful outcome of placement of all plot areas and open spaces in synchronization. The microclimate is integral part of this plan. The planning is as per the natural characteristic of land pertaining to the topography, type of vegetation and climatic aspects of the surroundings. Instead of cutting the existing tress, they are properly maintained and nurtured.All varieties of trees from big trees to small planters with creepers and grass are seen around.Various landscape elements as pathways, fences, rock gardens, water bodies, pergolas, avenues, bridges are used appropriately in design.The space caters to need of every age group with community centers, parks, avenues, health centers thus creating a good built in environment.

Its focus is on developing the community through cultural pride, education and arts appreciation. A second aspect of its uniqueness is the multi-cultural and multi-ethnic composition of the Qatar’s population who participate in the activities. The center is about 3,000-square-meters of gross area and approximately 5,000 m2 of land area. It should include (but not limited to): - Entrance (50m2): Waiting and reception area (50 m2) - Children Zone (200m2): Play area for toys and books (200 m2) and outdoors playground (300 m2) - Youth Zone (300m2): Majlis (100m2) and four 4 meeting room for workshops, computer terminals and groups activities. Master plan and notional Target Architecture inherit the top down and vertical architecture theory from traditional architecture development method. It is the first architecture theory among the Light Enterprise Architecture concept of vertical, horizontal and circular architecture theory. LEA takes the light approach to conduct master plan and the notional target architecture because it is futile to design a frozen blueprint in an organic enterprise. LEA adopt the ideal of master planning comes from city planning. Master plan and notional target architecture represent the construct and the notion of enterprise target architect. However, it serve as the mean of Enterprise Architecture rather than the end. EA is not only about drawing some high level architecture drawings. It is long term guideline not only for the enterprise mechanical architecture but also used to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing. It is intended for both business and engineering community. It shows how business take advantage of different resources which include not only IT but also human and financial resources. It is not intended as the guideline on how to design or create these resources. EA should not be confused as the enterprise wide solution architecture. Master plan and notional architecture is delivered in architecture drawing sets and spread sheet for the purpose of intuitive and comprehension by the business community. The notional architecture drawing is not as rigid a the engineering blueprint, It is flexible and creative.

As the flagship project for the next downtown Boston neighborhood slated for growth, Atlantic Wharf will be the city of Boston’s first LEED Gold mixed-use development. CBT Architects presents a case study on this new one million square foot project that includes approximately 65 residential units, ground-level retail and public spaces, six stories of below-grade parking, and 31 floors of office space that will bring urban activity directly to the Fort Point Channel water’s edge. The new sustainable development is at the base of a series of restored and renovated historic structures that preserve the texture and streetscape of this site, integrated with a modern highrise glass tower. By preserving the south and east façades of the historic warehouses, using a very energy-efficient curtainwall, and employing green roof technologies, Atlantic Wharf will be the a centerpiece of Boston's green development.

An Algorithm is a procedure to solve a particular problem in a finite number of steps for a finite-sized input. The algorithms can be classified in various ways. They are: Implementation Method Design Method Design Approaches Other Classifications In this article, the different algorithms in each classification method are discussed. The classification of algorithms is important for several reasons: Organization: Algorithms can be very complex and by classifying them, it becomes easier to organize, understand, and compare different algorithms. Problem Solving: Different problems require different algorithms, and by having a classification, it can help identify the best algorithm for a particular problem. Performance Comparison: By classifying algorithms, it is possible to compare their performance in terms of time and space complexity, making it easier to choose the best algorithm for a particular use case. Reusability: By classifying algorithms, it becomes easier to re-use existing algorithms for similar problems, thereby reducing development time and improving efficiency. Research: Classifying algorithms is essential for research and development in computer science, as it helps to identify new algorithms and improve existing ones. Overall, the classification of algorithms plays a crucial role in computer science and helps to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of solving problems. Classification by Implementation Method: There are primarily three main categories into which an algorithm can be named in this type of classification. They are: Recursion or Iteration: A recursive algorithm is an algorithm which calls itself again and again until a base condition is achieved whereas iterative algorithms use loops and/or data structures like stacks, queues to solve any problem. Every recursive solution can be implemented as an iterative solution and vice versa. Example: The Tower of Hanoi is implemented in a recursive fashion while Stock Span problem is implemented iteratively. Exact or Approximate: Algorithms that are capable of finding an optimal solution for any problem are known as the exact algorithm. For all those problems, where it is not possible to find the most optimized solution, an approximation algorithm is used. Approximate algorithms are the type of algorithms that find the result as an average outcome of sub outcomes to a problem. Example: For NP-Hard Problems, approximation algorithms are used. Sorting algorithms are the exact algorithms. Serial or Parallel or Distributed Algorithms: In serial algorithms, one instruction is executed at a time while parallel algorithms are those in which we divide the problem into subproblems and execute them on different processors.
