Before moving to Belize, Frik De Meyere developed a wide-ranging career across Europe. He worked in real estate development, information systems, cosmetics, food production, and construction. Over a decade, he led and invested in over twenty startup ventures, many later merged with or acquired by larger companies. Along the way, he completed the construction and sale of over one hundred residential units, providing him with hands-on experience in real estate development.
Frik first visited Belize in 2004 during a business scouting trip with his partner, Ilse Van Keer. He recognized the potential in the countrys property market and began acquiring land. In 2011, he and his family relocated to Belize, where he joined BMA Real Estate in Placencia.
At that time, BMA was a modest firm conducting fewer than fifteen property transactions annually. Over the following decade, Frik helped drive substantial growth. The team expanded to over twenty professionals, and annual transactions climbed to over one hundred. The firm also built a reputation for handling premium listings, such as private islands and luxury beachfront estates, which attracted an increasing number of buyers from North America and Europe.
In 2023, Frik decided to pursue a new chapter by founding Prime Belize Real Estate in collaboration with trusted colleagues and local agents. The firm officially opened in January 2024 and operates with a modern business model focused on responsiveness, client service, and improved listing visibility. He currently leads sales and strategy for the company, overseeing a portfolio that includes land parcels, luxury homes, and private islands.
