Global Lesson Plan Using the  CATA Global Lesson Plan Template  provided, teachers will submit ONE Lesson Plan to be stored on the Virtual Faculty Meeting Web Page during their appointed month. http://moodlehigh.ucps.k12.nc.us/course/view.php?id=25391&edit=0&sesskey=UAqSMG5lZc
Article Highlighting CATA Globalization As a department, teachers will work together to write an article on highlighting any global activities for their assigned month. The article can contain their department highlights and/ or school wide accomplishments.
Examples for Articles Senior Trip to the Renaissance Festival Holocaust guest speaker Adopt-a-Highway Cleanup Earth Sea performance
Logistics A schedule is attached with the dates for departments and academies to submit information to Deb Christensen. Teachers should email their global lesson plans to the Department Chair.  The Department Chair will email lessons and article to Deb by the first Friday of the month.  She will upload them onto the Virtual Faculty Meeting page.
Virtual Faculty Web Page Once uploaded, teachers can log in to the webpage and look over the global lesson plans and articles. Answer the three questions on the following slide. Save these questions and answers to submit (hopefully for a CEU!)
3 Questions  1. What is the global connection highlighted? 2. What is one concept from the article or lesson plan that I can integrate into my class? 3. Choose one resource, from the lists of favorite resources, and explain how it could be used in your classroom?
Why? We are a Global International School. We need to meet certain criteria following the Globalization Rubric to continue that  distinction. Our School Improvement Plan states we will incorporate global initiatives. Our individual Professional Development Plans must contain a globalization component.
Why?  Evaluation Tool and Artifacts. The following standards can be met in the distinguished category if you participate fully in the activities. (14 total) Standard 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 2b, 3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, 4a, 4c, 4d, 4h, 5b Each submission onto Virtual Faculty Meeting Web page counts as an artifact as well as collecting the questions you answer.

We have provided you with several global lessons that you may want to use or incorporate into your own lessons.
