Steve Jobs was an American entrepreneur, inventor, and industrial designer who co-founded Apple Inc. He was born in 1955 in San Francisco, California and dropped out of Reed College in 1972. Along with Steve Wozniak, Jobs helped pioneer the personal computer revolution with the launch of the Apple II in 1977, which sold $2.7 million in its first year. As CEO of Apple, Jobs helped transform the company into a world leader in personal computer sales and popularized products like the iPod, iPhone, and iPad. He passed away in 2011 at the age of 56.
