A A Play models in Quadrant 16 and 17 in Norwegian North Sea Channel feature in Lower Cretaceous/ Upper Jurassic Channel feature in Lower Cretaceous/ Upper Jurassic Pinch out of sequence in Lower Cretaceous/ Upper Jurassic This presentaEon is made to give some few examples of tested and untested play models in the North Sea. No accurate locaEon is given in both straEgraphic nor XY coordinates. • 2. PLAYS I and II A channel/ lobe system with a NW province area is idenE鍖ed within these Blocks. Several generaEons of these channels overlap each other, and a complex distribuEon of potenEal reservoir units can be idenE鍖ed. These features can also act as 鍖uid carriers/ migraEon path ways for other play models in area. III StraEgraphic trap with pinchout and/or fault dependent component IV Half graben features with aprone look a like features combined with potenEal smaller highs in conjuncEon with these. V and VI At 16/8-足1 well locaEon the acousEc impedance is relaEve high, but in area just east of locaEon much lower acousEc impedance can be idenE鍖ed. PotenEal new plays can be idenE鍖ed east of well locaEon in new structure which is untested. AcousEc impedanse indicate realEve thick high porosity zone at this structure loacEon. VII Low relief structure combined with a low impedance signature interval either 鍖anking the high or even at the crest of high. VIII StraEgraphic Pinch out trap combined with a low impedance interval VIIII Low relief structure combined with a low impedance interval with potenEal straEgraphic trap de鍖ned by pinch out sequence in the high. Seismic line A-足A through well 16/8-足1 illustrates several play models which could be pursued in this region of the North Sea. The well was located to test a thrust-足faulted structure in a NE-足SW trending sub-足basin to the southeast of the Utsira High. The primary objecEve was the basal Late Jurassic sand. This sand was esEmated to have an approximate gross thickness of 71 metres. The well was drilled in 1978 and found to be dry.
