What is a Campaign ?
A campaign is designed to :
- Promote a product
- Publicise an event
- Raise awareness of an issue
- Educate people
- Provide a public service
Methods of Promotion
Campaign producers use a range of methods to reach their target audience these
include :
-Shock : This is an example of a shock campaign
poster. Its meant to shock people into being more
careful on the roads and its been published by
Lancashire county council .
-Threat : This is an example of a threat
campaign poster .Its meant to threaten you
into voting busey by saying Haitians will kill
you.
-Catchy music / slogan : This is an example of a catchy music / slogan campaign
-enigma (mystery) : This is an example of a mystery campaign poster.
-Famous/relevant people : This is an example of a Famous /
Relevant people campaign poster. This is a campaign to vote
for barrack obama to become president.
Types of Campaigns
-Wildlife/nature campaigns e.g WWF
This is where they campaign against something
thats affecting the wildlife/ nature for example
this campaign poster about Global Warming.
-Animal cruelty campaigns e.g RSPCA
This is where they campaign against people being
cruel to animals For example this campaign poster is
A sweet kitten directly saying please dont throw me
away again with a bandage around her leg clearly
showing she has been involved in animal cruelty.
-Health campaigns e.g NHS
This is where they campaign about something that
Can seriously harm you like smoking. For example
this campaign poster is showing you a cigarette
growing a tumour basically symbolising what will
happen overtime if you continue smoking.
-Safety campaigns e.g Transport for London
This is where they campaign about something that will
Help people to be safe. For example this campaign
poster is a boy who has been hit by a car and has
earphones hanging out his ears which is highlighting that recently teenagers get
distracted by music and can get hurt
-Human Rights campaigns e.g Amnesty international
This is where they campaign about something to do
with human rights. For example this campaign poster
is campaigning for Human rights as some places still
dont have them in place.
