This document discusses the life and work of American artist Robert Smithson from 1964 to 1973. It describes his minimalist and geometric "Mirrors" works and "Enantiomorphic chambers" which explored vision and non-vision. It also mentions his "Nonsites" works and concept of "Displacements", as well as his most famous earthwork "Spiral Jetty" built on the Great Salt Lake in 1970 out of mud, salt crystals and basalt rocks.
