last 50 years. The land is owned by Central Railway and so they cannot requisition for
AMC’s jurisdiction.
General Description: This is a settlement located near Bora ka Roza, the railway slum,
and under the Khokhra bridge. There is a small community initiative that is run by a few
men from the settlement called ‘Jan milan’ (?) that tries to work for the betterment of
water and living facilities.
Sanitation Situation: There is one free-to-use community toilet, a narrow alleyway with
the men’s toilet on one side and the women’s toilet on the other side of it. The facility
was in a state of complete disarray / unclean /with people defecating right outside the
passage to the toilet booths. There were signs of open defecation on the opposite side
of the road on which one side of the settlements are based.
