Indonesia is located between Asia and Australia, consisting of over 17,000 islands spanning from Sabang to Merauke. The country stretches across 6 degrees north latitude and 11 degrees south latitude to 141 degrees east longitude. Indonesia has over 300 ethnic groups speaking different regional languages, though the shared national language is Indonesian. The culture varies widely across Indonesia's many islands, such as the annual Tabuik event held by the Minangkabau people to commemorate the death of legendary twins Hasan and Husen.
