Set Screw Collar¡
Characteristics:
? Set screw collars are the most common
and economic collar design
? These collars hold the shaft via a cup point set screw that impinges into
the shaft, which provides the holding power of the collar
? Design requires disassembly of shaft components when collar needs to
be replaced
? Set screw collars are manufactured from steel, stainless steel, aluminum
and acetal copolymer
? Finishes include: black oxide, zinc and yellow zinc dichromate
One-Piece Clamping Collar¡
Characteristics:
? One-piece clamping collars have a
single tangential screw
? One-piece design allows for additional
holding power versus a set screw collar with
the added benefit that it does not mar the shaft
? Design requires disassembly of shaft components when the collar needs
to be replaced
? One-piece clamping collars are manufactured from steel, stainless steel,
and aluminum
? Finishes include: black oxide, zinc and yellow zinc dichromate
Two-Piece Clamping Collar¡
Characteristics:
? Two-piece clamping collars have two
tangential screw
? With two screws, this style provides more
holding power than a one-piece clamping collar
? Screws are placed equally on both sides of the collar
? Main advantage with the two-piece style is the ability to install the collar
without any major disassembly to other components
? Two-piece clamping collars are manufactured from steel, stainless steel,
aluminum, and acetal
? Finishes include: black oxide, zinc and yellow zinc
dichromate
