UK Building Performance Evaluation

• Amount: £ 8,000,000 fund value

• The Technology Strategy Board has committed up to £8m to fund the costs of building
performance evaluation studies on domestic and non-domestic buildings.

• We will be funding individual companies and other organisations responsible for buildings
for the total cost of evaluating the performance of case study buildings they design, build, own
and/or operate. This will help builders and developers to deliver more efficient, better
performing buildings.

Smart Meters into Systems for Smart Homes

• Grant Type: Research & Development
• Amount: £4.5m
• Geographic Focus: United Kingdom

• The Technology Strategy Board, in partnership with the Department for Business,
Innovation and Skills, is to invest up to £4.5m in innovative collaborative research,
development and demonstration projects. The projects will integrate 'smart' meters with
communications to make a 'smart' system that will have an impact on the demand for, and
usage of, energy in the home.


EU Environment Grants

Pilot Project to Halt Desertification in Europe

• Grant Type: Installation Projects
• Amount: £2.4m fund value
• Geographic Focus: Europe
• Deadline: 30th June 2010

• The European Commission, Directorate-General for Environment is seeking to support
between three and five integrated and multi-disciplinary pilot initiatives to demonstrate the
potential of water savings to address desertification across Europe. The pilots should
be aimed at addressing water scarcity and drought, defined as: 'long term hydrological
imbalance linked to precipitation levels that adversely affect the production systems'.


South Korea International Design Awards

Incheon International Design Awards 2010 :
Green Heart
