• EDUCATION IS A SIGNIFICANT FACTOR TO ENABLE WOMEN TO CHALLENGE
GENDER RELATIONS, BUT MUCH IS REQUIRED TO CHANGE THE NORMS AND THE
CRITICAL ATTITUDE OF SOCIETY. (MASON,1993)
• WOMEN’S EDUCATION AND INCOME LEVELS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PREVALENCE
OF VIOLENCE. THUS WOMEN WITH MORE EDUCATION AND INCOME ARE LESS
LIKELY TO BE VULNERABLE TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. (RANI AND BONU, 2009)
• MALE HAVE MORE DECISION MAKING POWER THAN WOMEN BUT IN CERTAIN
CASES ONLY ELDERLY WOMEN CONSULTED FOR OPINION IN DECISION
