In grade 12, I took co-op and my placement was at Highgate Public School. My biggest challenge of the
semester was to create a lesson plan and performing it in front of my coop teacher.I was able to create a
lesson plan fairly easy due to seeing many other teachers teaching style. But I was aware that I did not
have the authority to the children as the teachers did. As expected a couple kids didnt want to pay
attention and follow my lead. One of the most important parts I learned from the teacher is to not let it
affect me and try to earn the one childs attention. Instead when playing a game I put them in a
situation where they would have to participate and also have fun at the same time. For example, when
we were playing tag I let the student be the tagger. In the end, all the students had fun and were all
listening to me. After that day they respected me a lot more and listened to me more often. And finally I
got a great mark on the assignment.

My Proudest Moment: Leading a class and getting a great
                                             mark!
Just recently I got a job at Five Guys Burgers and Fries and as a requirement we had to attend Food and
Safety Conference. They were in the process of weeding out candidates because they over hired. They
only wanted those who participated and got a good mark on the final test. I participated like never
before, trying to answer every question and paying attention. For the final test I tried my hardest and
got a perfect mark of 100%. Another great result of that day was that I got hired and am currently
                                               working there.

                                              getting hired!
When I was younger a played for a house
league basketball league in Markham called
MUMBA. It was just a weekly event where we
got to practice for an hour and play a game for
an hour. When they make the teams at the
beginning of the season you are put on a team
of strangers. And in most situations some
people will be uncomfortable due to being
strangers and possibly not being of equal skill
level. I took it on myself to make the team
closer. I wanted everyone on the team to have
fun and not make them feel like it was a super
competitive thing and forget to have fun
because in the end it was only house
league.Every weekend I made sure to joke
around with those individuals. I did my best to
get to know them outside of just basketball.
Also when practicing and in games I made sure
that I passed to them when it made sense. Also
I always tried to encourage them and made sure
other teammates never put each other down.
Although we did not end up winning the
championships, we all had a great season and
game. Nobody felt left out and everyone had a
role. The coach saw my initiative and I was
                        named Team Captain.

Proudest Moment: Becoming Team Captain!
When volunteering at multiple basketball camps one of the event coordinators told us he had a special
prize for the Employee of the Month. I was working with the kids to practice shooting a basketball.
There was a kid who was struggling to make a shot and was getting very frustrated. After the camp when
everyone would go home, the individual would go outside and practice shooting his basketball. I saw
this and I went out and practised with him.The event coordinator saw this and he chose me as the
employee of the month. The event coordinator knew someone in Steve Nashs camp and he got me to
watch the junior Team Canada tryouts and I got to meet and chat with one of idols in Steve Nash.

Proudest Moment: Being Employee of the Month and meeting Steve Nash!
When working for Spectrum Catering I saw that the food truck we were working in, were getting very
dirty. We cleaned them often but we mainly only use two out of the three trucks. One day I decided to
clean up the third truck on my own time and if they wanted to pay me it was up to them. When it came
time to work a new event they went to see the cleanest two trucks and then realized that all three of
them were clean and there were no dirty trucks. They asked everyone who cleaned the truck and I told
them I cleaned it and they decided rewarded be by paying me for three hours overtime although the
task only took an hour and a half. I also got invited to come along with them to the show and had one of
the greatest working experiences in my short work span because I got to go to the event which was for
Mercedes Benz and I have a great interest in cars.

Proudest Moment: Got paid extra and got promoted in
                                         the company.
