There are several options for distributing the film, including large conglomerate companies or independent distributors. While conglomerates have advantages like name recognition that could reach a wide audience, it would be difficult for an independent film to partner with one as they are selective. An independent British distributor like Optimum Releasing may be a better fit as it would allow the film to retain its identity and provide creative control, while still reaching the target UK audience. Alternative options like YouTube are free but offer no profits, while streaming services provide larger audiences but require payment. Overall, an independent UK distributor is recommended.

This document outlines plans for the title sequence of a psychological horror film. It describes using flashbacks of childhood toys and memories to portray a woman descending into madness. Images would include a doll, jewelry box, scissors and hair to show her cutting her hair and the doll's. The sequence would be inspired by other films and show the toys in order, becoming increasingly disturbing, to mirror her deteriorating mental state. Details of distribution, target audiences, props, costumes, sounds, credits and filming are also provided. Risks like weather and slippery surfaces would need to be considered.
This document provides details on the proposed title sequence for a psychological horror film called "The Pitch". The sequence draws inspiration from films like Durham County, American Horror Story Hotel, and Insidious. It will feature disturbing imagery, eerie sounds, and replicated scenes showing blood and a young child. The main character is a troubled young woman named Scarlet. The sequence aims to attract audiences aged 15-25 through social media promotion. It will utilize props, costumes, makeup, and locations to set the unsettling tone. A variety of camera shots and sounds will be used to further immerse viewers in the dark fairy tale-inspired world of the film.
This production schedule outlines the filming of various scenes between January 14th and February 11th. It includes details of scenes involving the character Scarlet in the woods and bedroom, the editing of footage, and recording of sound effects. The majority of the work involves filming scenes with Scarlet or editing footage in the edit suite, with the final edit taking place on February 11th.
This production schedule outlines the filming of various scenes between January 14th and February 11th. It includes details of scenes featuring the character Scarlet in the woods and bedroom on specific dates in January, followed by editing sessions in late January and early February. Sound recording and the final edit are scheduled for February 8th and 11th respectively with no characters involved.
The document proposes a psychological horror title sequence that depicts a woman mentally scarred by her past. It draws inspiration from the title sequences of "Durham County" and "American Horror Story: Hotel", utilizing techniques like flashes between scenes and the juxtaposition of red against black. The sequence will feature a doll and use flashbacks to show the woman's traumatic childhood experiences, challenging stereotypes by portraying her as both a victim and antagonist.
The document analyzes the popularity of the horror genre according to statistics from the BFI Statistical Yearbook. It finds that while horror films are not among the top 20 highest grossing films in the UK, the film "Dracula Untold" was 17th among top UK films. Additionally, the horror film "Annabelle" was in the lower half of films released in the UK by genre in 2014 but had a stable number of releases. The document concludes that the horror genre is more popular in the UK than other countries like the US, and is most popular with audiences aged 25-34 and more so with male audiences.
The title sequence of the film "Annabelle" establishes the horror genre through Annabelle's creepy doll-like appearance and dark, ominous atmosphere. Annabelle is dressed girlishly but her makeup is smudged and scary. The setting is incredibly dark with no lights, implying spooky creatures may emerge from the darkness. It introduces Annabelle as a "living" doll with her own mind and movements that frighten people. Key themes are toys, darkness, doll, death and haunted.
The document discusses common techniques used in horror movies to elicit fear in audiences. It describes how darkness, confined spaces like bathrooms, isolated areas like forests at night, and vulnerable characters like women and children are exploited. Other fear-inducing elements mentioned include fog that limits visibility, unusual or ghostly makeup on scary characters, blood, needles, old settings that seem cursed, and photographs of the past coming alive. Planes are also discussed as something modern audiences fear losing control over their body during a flight.
This document discusses common techniques used in horror films to elicit fear in audiences. It analyzes shots from horror movie sequences that employ elements like dark settings, fog, empty places, doors, chairs, fans and clowns to create suspense and mystery. The purpose is to prime the audience for a frightening experience by tapping into things that are already seen as scary or dangerous.
This sequence establishes the horror genre conventions used in the film. It begins with a shot in a dark forest setting unease with its isolation. Subsequent shots show a disturbing model of a young girl in a red jacket, alluding to Little Red Riding Hood. An unknown threatening figure is portrayed from behind. A blood-stained picnic basket and a clipping of hair on a nail imply danger has befallen the young girl. The title of the film is revealed at the end, written in black with a red triangle, signifying the dangerous theme that will unfold.
