Success Is Complete With TOEFL Boosters
TOEFL or Test of English as a Foreign Language is a test designed to assess a
candidates proficiency at understanding and using English. Passing this test is a
requirement for non-native, English-speaking individuals, who seek employment
or university admissions in the United States. Candidates are tested on four chief
aspects: reading, listening, speaking and writing. Each of these sections, account
for 25% of the overall score.

The following are a few TOEFL boosters for each of these sections:

Reading: Each reading passage in the TOEFL has between 3 to six factual
information questions. To practice for this section, candidates will have to get
their hands on an upper-intermediate or advanced EFL (English as a foreign
language) reading book and work out the comprehension questions related to
reading. The multiple choice questions that follow the reading are quite
helpful. The item in this segment present either a question or an incomplete
sentence and offers you four options to either answer the question or complete
   the sentence.

Reading the sentence or question carefully will help you identify exactly what it
is asking for. The options many seem quite tricky but make sure that the one
you choose is the best match for the question or the incomplete section. Take
advantage of the fact that the TOEFL (IBT) allows you to browse through the
reading as many times as you like during the time allotted for that part. Scan the
reading for key words and judge whether the ideas are good answers.

Speaking: Getting a better understanding of how your speech is judged will
help you focus on those factors that will raise your score. Good pronunciation,
accurate vocabulary and substantial content will help you with the speaking
score. An automatic response (response that flows smoothly and without a lot
of pauses or breaks) is also what examiners are looking for in the speaking
   section of the TOEFL.

Familiarity with the test instructions, knowledge of scoring criteria, adequate
TOEFL test preparation and availability of preparation materials also help in
increasing you over all speaking score. Since the speaking tasks are quite short,
(45 minutes for the independent tasks and 60 seconds for the integrated tasks)
unfamiliarity with the aspects of the task might make this section seem difficult.
Listening: The word gist implies an overall understanding. The TOFEL
listening section targets the comprehension of gist and you will find question
built focus on gist. There are two main types of basic comprehension questions
in the reading section-gist content, gist purpose and detail. The two types of gist
questions given here differ in what large aspect of information they focus on.
The questions that target the gist content ask about what the speakers are saying
and the questions that target the Gist purpose ask about what why they are
saying it. The gist content can either relate to a lecture or a conversation on the
listening section. It is quite obvious that the answer will include a statement that
   captures the main idea.

Writing: there are main two tasks that need to be completed in the writing
section. The first task in the writing section is the integrated task. It is called an
integrated task because it requires a combination of skills like reading and
listening to complete the task. In this task you will have 3 minutes to read
through a short passage after which you have to listen to a small lecture about a
related academic topic. The second is the independent task and the second is the
integrated task. The independent requires you to express a personal opinion or
describe some personal experience. It is called an independent task because all
the information that you will need to complete this task is already present in
   your mind.

If you approach these sections with confidence you will be able to successfully
display your English language skills and ace the test.
