Коллекция итальянской живописи XVII столетия в Эрмитаже - одна из наиболее значительных за пределами Италии.
В ней представлены все художественные школы, среди которых особое место занимают болонская и римская.
Музей располагает полотнами самых знаменитых болонских мастеров этого времени
- братьев Карраччи, Гвидо Рени, Доменикино, Гверчино, Альбани, Франческини.
Многообразие искусства Рима, ставшего главным центром культурной жизни Европы,
отражают работы широкого круга живописцев, представителей самых разных течений и жанров,
