The document discusses the technologies learned from creating a product. It summarizes:
1) They learned to use an unfamiliar video camera, teaching them about framing subjects.
2) They learned higher quality cameras produced clearer footage, and how to use quality to their advantage in scenes.
3) Using unfamiliar software like Adobe Premiere and Photoshop taught them how to edit footage, add effects, and create titles with motion and placement.

Technology Evaluation
1. What have you learnt about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
2. Firstly, we had to use a video camera that we were
not familiar with. Learning to use this camera was
easy enough, and taught us about the importance
of framing, as we had to watch the footage back
and practice the best ways to frame a subject in still
or movement.
Using the video cameras taught us about the
importance of the camera, and how the quality of
the original footage can affect the overall outcome
of the film.
3. We learned about the quality of the videos as well, as we had
filmed on the video cameras and also filmed one of our videos
diaries using the Canon EOS cameras, and the quality of these
cameras were much clearer and sharper. This taught us about how
to use the original quality to our advantage. For instance, if the
image was grainy, it could be incorporated into the dream
sequence at the beginning of our opening.
4. Also, we used software that we were not familiar
with. Using Adobe Premiere CS6 to edit our
footage was difficult at first, as we did not know
how to cut the footage to the length we wanted,
and once we overcame this obstacle, we learned
how to apply effects we wanted to the right
footage, and how to blend it in effectively so
that it did not suddenly cut from monochrome
to vibrant footage.
5. When creating our main title we used Adobe
Photoshop CS6 to create the text and create a
transparent background, to then add it back in to
Premiere.
We had to open all four separate images and add
them in to overlap, and then begin to ‘play around’
with the motion and placement of the words. We
had to move each word the smallest amount to
create a surreal look to mimic the state of the
protagonists mind.

taken when we
were editing using
Adobe Premiere CS6.
6. • I also used Blogger and the internet, to complete my
research and create my online coursework.
Without being able to use the internet, I would not
have found the videos and sources necessary to
create our own piece. Also, it helped as I could
browse many forms of online media, and could try
the best ways to showcase my research and, as
shown here, my evaluations.

7. • Overall, we have learnt how to incorporate
new technologies to create our final piece.
We used software and cameras that were
unfamiliar, and managed to learn and use
them to the best of our abilities.
