CARNE DE CABALLO-HORSE MEAT
? It consists a real scandal, a huge deceit that has already damaged
the horse trade even on the small local businesses of the cities n
Spain. Horse meat is a legal product in the European Union but
it has to meet some specific requirements in order to enter the
food chain.
? Must we throw the horse meat on the rubbish? After the
huge scandal thousands of products have to be thrown away by
companies and businesses.
3. What about articles
? All the texts on ¡®¡¯El Pais¡¯¡¯ are news edited and the information are
certified, coming from authentic sources, companies¡¯
statements, health services, merchants and presidents that are
published by name.
? They have a logical and objective character , analyze the subject
scientifically although responsibilities are assigned to all countries.
The case is presented by the reporter as a commercial fraud and not
as a danger for public health.
4. The Columnist
Raquel Vidales is a columnist to the digital version of the

? The Minister of Health, Ana Mato declares that the horse
meat does not consist a danger for health ,in order to calm the
public , only the meat that contains the antibiotic ¡®¡¯bute¡¯¡¯ is
dangerous and for this reason tests are necessary before any
product is offered on the market.
? products have already been recalled by companies Eroski and
Ahorramas from the 29th of January that horse meat first
appeared on burgers in Spain. In addition, the company
NESTLE withdrew spaghetti Buitini, a kind of ravioli and
tortellini that contained meat as well as other six similar
products that were graced with equine DNA.
6. All the news are published on a clear journalistic pattern, they
mention and analyze the case without exaggerations and emotions.
They use declarations of presidents and people of the state system. We
have a reliance on authority in order to tranquilize the consumers.
