Riley Vehec chose four songs to represent the soundtrack of their life. They selected three songs by Eminem because they relate messages of facing fears instead of giving in to doubts, standing proud despite others' opinions, and being grateful for life's ups and downs. The fourth song, "She" by Elvis Costello, holds special meaning as it was played in a baby video of Riley, forming a connection. Riley explains that songs can resonate differently with listeners based on their own experiences.

Riley Vehec's - "The soundtrack to my life honors literature"
6. Reasons behind my soundtrack picks
As you may have noticed I am a fan of Eminem. So because of that I wanted to incorporate his
music in this soundtrack. Eminem and I have had two completely different lives but when I listen
to these songs I get a message that is sort of relatable to me. The first song, Guts Over Fear is a
song that is sort of saying instead of being scared of your fears, face them. You never know what
will happen if you dont try. Dont let the possibility of a bad outcome ruin your dreams. That
relates to me because I get to caught up in the what ifs and I let my thoughts drag me down
from something I want to do. Now for Legacy, I thought that related to me because throughout
school I was misunderstood and bullied a lot. This songs says to me that no matter what other
people think, you are still a good person and you deserve to live your life. For So Far I thought
that that song related to me because it is saying that everyone's life will have ups and downs. You
have to take the good with the bad and move on. We could all use that reminder sometimes. You
have to think of how your life compares with someone else that has no home or no food or no
money and say Life has been good to me so far. (That is a quote from So Far) Finally, for She,
I think that is a good song for me because when I was 1 years old my parents made a video of me
from the time I was born up to the age of 1. In the background they put She and because of
that I have always felt a special connection with that song so I knew I had to include that. When I
think about the messages artists have in songs I realize that the message in one song could be a
different message for everyone that hears it. It all depends on your life and what you have been
through. You compare your life to that song. That being said, my message is probably different
than the artists messages.
