This is a Christmas story made up a few years ago in my literacy class between myself and the children. We then turned our story into a playscript so we could perform it at christmas time.
Christmas is celebrated on December 25th. Popular symbols include Christmas trees decorated with ornaments and lights, wreaths hung on doors, and poinsettia flowers. Traditions include sending Christmas cards, shopping at stores and malls in November, hanging stockings by the fireplace, leaving cookies and milk for Santa, and opening gifts on Christmas morning. Families enjoy decorating their homes with lights and decorations.
The document discusses the history and importance of chocolate in human civilization. It notes that chocolate originated in Mesoamerica over 3000 years ago and was prized by the Aztecs and Mayans for its taste. Cocoa beans were used as currency and their cultivation was tightly regulated. The Spanish conquest of the 16th century introduced chocolate to Europe, though it was initially consumed only as a bitter drink by the wealthy. Mass production and new technologies in the 18th and 19th centuries made chocolate affordable for the general population.
The story is about Father Christmas who brings presents for children on Christmas Eve. The next day, the children find the presents under the Christmas tree which has a yellow star on top. The children enjoy eating sweets from their Christmas socks and Christmas cake while playing with crackers.
This document contains a list of common Christmas vocabulary words and their definitions, including Christmas tree, decorations, presents, turkey, Santa Claus, holly, reindeer, stocking, bells, carols, snowman, angel, candles, and wise men. It also includes a short Christmas carol called "We Wish You a Merry Christmas".
Father Christmas loves giving presents and putting them under the Christmas tree with a beautiful star on top so children can take presents from their stockings on Christmas. Children also write Christmas cards, eat Christmas cake, and open crackers as part of their Christmas traditions.
The document provides vocabulary words related to Christmas for primary students, including descriptions of Santa's sleigh being pulled by nine reindeer with Rudolph having a glowing red nose, families opening presents on Christmas morning or January 6th, decorating Christmas trees with bulbs and lights, and traditions such as sending cards, eating turkey and pudding, and singing carols on Christmas Eve.
The document describes a family's Christmas celebrations. It details how they spent Christmas Eve having dinner with family and exchanging gifts. On New Year's Eve, the family had another dinner together, the children played, and at midnight they hugged and wished each other a happy new year while singing, dancing, and enjoying each other's company. The document expresses wishes for happiness, love, and peace in the new year.
The document summarizes the Rutledge family's Christmas traditions over several decades, beginning in the 1950s. It highlights key family members and events through photos and captions, showing the family growing from 3 members to a multi-generational tree with children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Christmas was filled with joy, laughter, gift-giving, and bringing family together from different locations to celebrate the holiday, creating special memories that continued to bond the extended family for years to come.
A Christmas Story: Content marketing for digital success in a multicultural w...Axonn Media

Multicultural content marketing is the most effective way for brands to engage local audiences in the international market. This is especially true for companies expanding their operations to countries where English isnt the main language spoken.
This white paper, a joint project between Axonn Media and EnVeritas Group, looks at how brands can drive increased sales in non-English markets in retails busiest period and the rest of the year.
Speaking about the power of multicultural content marketing, Head of European Content at NewsReach Frank Hartkopf said: The time of one-size-fits-all marketing is over. Brands need to take advantage of the power of multicultural content marketing in order to break into new markets and improve their global reputation and credibility.
Eric Ingrand, EnVeritas Group Vice President of Content Marketing EMEA, added: Publishing content in multiple languages for a variety of markets requires digital agility. But it is an incredibly powerful way of reaching out to new audiences. Large or small, companies with an international reach need multicultural content marketing to succeed in the digital age.
Highlights from the white paper include:
* An interview with Expedia brand Hotels.coms marketing managers Michael Korkia and Malte Bunjes. They explain how adapting their content to provide users an authentic local experience pays off when it comes to conversion.
* An insight piece by Robert Rose from the Content Marketing Institute analysing how Coca-Cola uses content to connect with its global audience not just during the festive season but throughout the year.
* Commentary from Essential Retail editor Ben Sillitoe about how UK retailers such as Marks & Spencer are breaking into European and emerging markets.
* Contributions from people all over the world to show how retailers and locals approach Christmas in countries such as Finland, China, Russia and South Africa.
Karen Webber, Marketing Director at Axonn Media, commented: We wanted to produce a white paper that conveys our shared passion for multicultural content marketing through superb opinion pieces, strong case studies and really useful, practical tips for retailers.
The next few months are of crucial importance to these brands, and we hope our white paper can help them drive increased sales through multicultural content marketing.
The document describes various Christmas traditions in Great Britain. On Christmas Eve, children hang stockings and leave carrots and mince pies for Father Christmas. On Christmas Day, families open presents and have a large meal followed by relaxing activities. Boxing Day is spent visiting others and exchanging gifts. New Year's Eve involves fireworks displays and large parties. Traditional Christmas foods include Christmas pudding, cake, and mince pies. Other customs involve Christmas crackers, cards, trees decorated with candles and sweets, mistletoe, holly, nativity plays, pantomimes, and making wishes while breaking a wishbone.
The document summarizes the classic Christmas story A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. It describes how Ebenezer Scrooge, a bitter and miserly man, is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley on Christmas Eve. Marley warns Scrooge that he will be haunted by three spirits. In the following nights, the spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Future visit Scrooge to show him how his selfish ways have affected others and could lead to a lonely future if he does not change. Through these encounters, Scrooge transforms into a generous, kind-hearted man who learns to embrace the Christmas spirit. The story concludes with Scrooge becoming the best man in town.
Carina is shy but is chosen to play the lead role of Tammy the Angel in her school's Christmas play. She worries about forgetting her lines in front of the large audience. Her teacher, Miss Evelyn, encourages her and suggests pretending her family is the only audience to reduce nerves. At the dress rehearsal, Carina still forgets her lines but Miss Evelyn reassures her. On the night of the play, Carina finds her family in the crowd and focuses on performing for them, allowing her to remember her lines and enjoy playing Tammy. The play is a success and Carina gains confidence in performing.
The story describes Joseph and Mary traveling to Bethlehem for the census and finding shelter in a stable, where Jesus was born. Shepherds in a nearby field were visited by angels telling them about the newborn king. Wise men from the east followed a star to Bethlehem and presented gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh for the infant Jesus. The wise men were warned in a dream not to report back to King Herod, who wanted to harm the new king. The passage emphasizes that Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Jesus.
1) An angel told Mary she would have a special baby named Jesus who would be the Son of God.
2) Mary and Joseph traveled to Bethlehem for a census and Jesus was born in a manger because there was no room at the inn.
3) Shepherds and wise men were led to Jesus and brought him gifts. However, King Herod wanted to kill Jesus so the family fled to Egypt and later returned to Nazareth.
Christmas is celebrated annually on December 25th to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. While the actual date of his birth is uncertain, Christmas was established in the 4th century by the Catholic Church to coincide with pre-existing pagan winter solstice festivals. The traditions and customs associated with Christmas vary around the world, with some opening presents on different days like St. Nicholas' Eve or Epiphany and others celebrating with special Christmas meals that feature foods native to their country.
literacy art science subjects come together in this wonderful way to celebrate peace day with the children. Kadinskys circles, hot and cold colours, parts of the body and words to do with peace all came together in this project with my first year juniors in CP Atalia bilingual school in Asturias Spain.
this playscript is a product of talking about christmas in literacy classes and what happens ie shopping for presents. but what happens if you dont get the present you want or like? read this playscript and look at the booklet of illustrations and find out. The ideas came from the children and it was a guided group writing exercise.
Pancake Day was approaching and preparations were being made for races where participants would run as fast as they could from the starting line. After the races had finished, everyone wanted pancakes to enjoy as a treat.
Pancake Penny is a story about a girl named Pancake Penny who loves eating pancakes. While her mother is shopping, Penny gets hungry from hopping around the house. She finds ingredients in the kitchen to make pancakes, including eggs, milk, flour and a pan. Penny makes many different kinds of pancakes, creating a big mess. When her mother returns home and sees the mess, she tells Penny she will look like a pancake herself if she doesn't stop mixing with the big spoon.

Students are introduced to basic computer room vocabulary and rules for behavior in their first year, including only saying yes or no, not shouting, switching off computers before leaving, and raising your hand if help is needed. Pictures of common computer components like the keyboard, hard drive, mouse and screen are provided to label.
Students are learning computer room vocabulary and rules for their second year. They are asked to write three rules and label pictures of computer components, including a keyboard, hard drive, mouse, and screen.
Drama script in class by second year juniors, group work and guided by teacher. Together we looked at funny adjectives for the characters then how the story would be different if they used those adjectives. We then thought what the narrators and characters could say.
Great for Second year juniors learning English as a second language. In April we celebrate Saint George, San Jordi, UK, Catalu単a and many other places with a dramatisation of St George and the dragon. The children normally make up their own scripts in class loosely based on the original story. Hence thinking of different adjectives to start them off. How about a cowardly knight, fat princess and tiny dragon????
Created by me for my first cycle juniors who are in a bilingual project and studying English as a second language through content learning. This was for Halloween obviously and for my Literacy class. It works on rhyming words which dont always have the same spelling.

Validity is an important characteristic of a test. A test having low validity is of little use. Validity is the accuracy with which a test measures whatever it is supposed to measure. Validity can be low, moderate or high. There are many factors which affect the validity of a test. If these factors are controlled, then the validity of the test can be maintained to a high level. In the power point presentation, factors affecting validity are discussed with the help of concrete examples.
