Trishant kweera is a 3rd year computer science student at the University of petroleum and Energy studies studying mainframe technology. The document defines IOT as billions of devices connected to the internet that can share and analyze data to improve lives. It discusses how ARM and IBM are offering starter kits to make IOT device development easier. Additionally, it predicts that in 5 years IOT will drive innovation allowing people to build custom devices to fulfill daily needs simply. Trishant's interests involve addressing security, privacy and installation challenges when aggregating data from smart cities' IOT technologies.

2. What is it?
• IOT is evolution of mobile , home and embedded application that
are connected to internet integrating greater computing ability
and using data analytics to extract meaningful information.
• Now billion or more devices are connected to internet , and then
further connected to each other to form intelligence of systems
that share and analyze data to transform our lives in countless
ways. For e.g. In medical, traffic etc.
3. Trends
• ARM, IBM offer starter kit for making IOT
devices : The development kit will come with ARM's mbed
OS and connect into IBM's BlueMix cloud, which will help in the
development of applications and services . this kit will allow
users to make their own connected device in a matter of
time who have no experience in embedded and web
development.
• In the next five years it will drive the minds of people to build
their own devices that can fullfill any possibility in their daily
lives in just a nick of time without needing to know about the
structure and its codings.
4. Interest Areas
• Interest area on internet of things is coping with installation
, security and privacy challenge in data aggregation for
internet of technologies in smart cities.
• As the technology is progressing , so does the threats for
malicious users to exploit devices in so many ways so
security are more concerned with the increasing level of
technology , so it would be interesting to put a hands on
developing of finding many possible doors to counter the
incoming attacks.
• Providing secure exchange of data between IOT devices
and the consumers of their information.
• Providing the protection mechanisms for vulnerable
devices.
