TYPES OF
RESTAURANTS
Grupa:8213
Restaurants may be classified or distinguished in many different ways. The
primary factors are usually the food itself (e.g. vegetarian, seafood, steak); the
cuisine(e.g. Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, French, Mexican, Thai) and/or
the style of offering (e.g. tapas bar, a sushi train, a tastet restaurant, a buffet
restaurant or a yum cha restaurant). Beyond this, restaurants may differentiate
themselves on factors including speed (see sea food), formality, location, cost,
service, or novelty themes (such as automated restaurants).
Steakhouse
STEAKHOUSE
A steakhouse, steak house, or
chophouse is a restaurant that
specializes in beef steaks and other
individual portions of meat, known as
chops. Usually, these steaks are made to
order and are served with side dishes
such as baked potatoes and rolls. Most
steakhouses also offer other cuts of
meat such as roast prime rib, veal, and
often seafood.
Bistro
A bistro is a small
restaurant,serving moderately priced
simple meals in a modest setting. Bistros
are defined mostly by the foods they
serve. French home-style cooking, and
slow-cooked foods like cassoulet, a bean
stew, are typical.
Pub
A pub is a drinking
establishment in the culture of
Britain,Ireland,Australia, and Canada.
In many places, especially in villages,
a pub can be the focal point of the
community. The writings of Samuel
Pepys describe the pub as the heart
of England.
Pancake house
A pancake house, pancake and
waffle house or waffle house is a
restaurant that specializes in breakfast
items such as pancakes, waffles, and
omelettes, among other items.
Fast food
Fast food is the term given to food that is
prepared and served very quickly, first
popularized in the 1950s in the United
States. While any meal with low
preparation time can be considered fast
food, typically the term refers to food
sold in a restaurant or store with
preheated or precooked ingredients, and
served to the customer in a packaged
form for take out/take away. Fast food
restaurants are traditionally separated by
their ability to serve food via a drive-
through.
