2. GRAMATICAL RULES!
The past simple:
• Use to express an action already done.
• We have irregular verbs and regular verbs.
3. REGULAR VERBS.
Past simple verb forms are created by
adding, e+d (ed) in the end of the verb.
Ex.
Call+ed= called.
Want+ed= wanted.
4. REGULAR VERBS.
Past simple verb forms, verbs that end in a e, we
add a d in the end.
Ex:
Change+d= changed
Smile+d= smiled
5. REGULAR VERBS.
Past simple verb forms, verbs that end in Y
CAHNGES to i +ed in the end.
Ex.
Try i + ed = tried.
Say i + ed = said.
6. REGULAR VERBS.
Past simple verb forms, verbs that end in
consonant + vowel + consonant, we double the
last letter and + ed.
STOP
Vowel.
Ex.
Stop + pp + ed = Stopped
7. REGULAR VERBS.
Past simple verb forms, verbs that end in a
vowel and y we DON´T change the y-i. We just
add ed at the end.
Ex.
Stay + ed = stayed.
