Venus is the second planet from the Sun and is similar in size to Earth but has extreme surface temperatures due to dense sulfuric acid clouds and an atmosphere composed primarily of carbon dioxide. It has no natural satellites and its surface is marked by volcanoes, though its composition remains unknown due to the dense cloud cover. Venus is slightly smaller than Earth and named after the Roman goddess of love and beauty.
