The document discusses the skills and technologies learned through creating a film production. It covers learning camera techniques like shot types and the 180 degree rule. Editing skills were developed using Corel Videostudio Pro X3, including matching shots and ensuring a smooth production. Lighting techniques such as low key and high key lighting were also explored. Battery life and storage space on cameras and memory cards presented challenges that were overcome for the final film. Blogger was used to document the work, and Audacity was used to record and edit voiceovers while removing background noise.

2. (The famous music from Jaws is an example of a non-diegetic sound, as we see a calm surrounding with tense music in the background.)Imanagedtoachievethe effective use of a camera, and knowing that a variety of shots iscurtailwhen creating a production. I now understand where to place shots (E.G establishing shots) and the reason for their usage. I have also developed understanding of the 180degreerule, and how it plays acurtailpart in filming, and how it avoids confusion when viewing the final outcome.I have also learnt the effects of off-screen, diegetic sound and how it keeps the narrative moving. We put this into practice when filming out production, as we used a vocal voice over when theestablishingshot appeared.
3. Another skill developed, is being able to effectively edit the whole production together. To do this, we used Corel Videostudio Pro X3.The program was one that was bought at home, so it was a new software we had to learn to use. We created test programs, such as titles, so as to get used to the different uses it has. This required fine tuning, and carefully examine each clip to make sure the whole production run smoothly I also acquired the skill to use match on action perfectly, which can e seen when the main character throws the photo album. Further, a technique learnt was the different types of lighting, and the effect it has on the set. For example; Low key and high key lighting. The lighting can also create a naturalistic effect, making the set seem a lot more naturalistic. This helped in our film as we wanted lighting to be as natural as possible as this is a convention of British Realism films.
4. Battery life on our camera was a major problem, as on our first day of filming we had not charged the camera as had a nearly full camera life. However the battery life drained very quickly, which meant during our first cut we had to rush some scenes so as we could get enough footage. We overcame this the next time by putting the camera on charge whenever possible so we could spend time on shots, trying to get them looking exactly how we wanted. We had trouble with our filming for our first cut as we ran out of space on our SD card, so we had to go through trouble of ringing people and asking if they had a spare SD card we could borrow. We avoided this problem whilst filming our final piece by buying a spare SD card and bringing it with us in case we needed it.
5. As part of my coursework process we had to document our work by uploading it to a blog. This proved to be an organised way of handling work, once we had figured out how to use it.
6. We found the website to be quite straight forward, as you could hover over items and it would tell you what the icons were used for.One problem was HTML code as we needed to figure out how to use it to insert our slideshows off www.slideshare.netThis problem proved easily overcome, so blogger was not too hard to use.
7. To create the voiceover for our film evaluation we used the program Audacity. We used this to describe aspects of our film, and how our media product uses, develops and challenge forms and conventions of real media products,We achieved this by recording our voices through a microphone, and the sound went onto Audacity. A script was planned beforehand, and we read off this. The program was simple to use, and we found the noise removal tool useful as it helped remove any unwanted background noise.
