"Just Steve", by Kate Eden: Steve is directly descended from the apes. Quite literally, both of his parents are apes. Bonobos to be precise. Shunned in his youth by the bonobo community, due to his human like appearence, Steve preferred to sit alone at the edge of the territory. Now, it just so happened one day, while Steve was far away from the rest of the apes, Kate was in the area doing a spot of bonobo culling. She slaughtered the entire community using fire and petrol. Steve returned home for his tea to find kate dancing over the charred and still smoking remains of his apey parents. He wasn't sad though! and kate thought he was well cute so she took him home and taught him table man
